Polish Community Support for Ukrainian Relief
In support of our Ukrainian neighbors, the Seattle Polish Foundation (SPF) launched a fundraising campaign: Polish Community Support for Ukraine. Over $53,000 has been raised so far (including $5,000 SPF match) with 157 individual donations.
Contributions were donated to Polish Humanitarian Action (Polska Akcja Humanitarna, PAH) to support people affected by the war in Ukraine and refugees arriving in Poland. PAH is a well-respected Poland-based organization with three decades of experience. PAH provides humanitarian assistance, including food, hygiene products, and other forms of support. The first transfer of funds $15,000 was wired to PAH on March 8, 2022, and second wire with additional $15,000 was sent on March 25, 2022. The SPF will send additional transfers of funds as they are collected.
SPF also granted $2000 to assist with refugees arriving in Gdansk, in response to Seattle Gdynia Sister City Association outreach and request from local authorities.
Locally, SPF is also supporting Ukrainian Association of Washington in their efforts to organize shipment of much needed supplies into affected areas.
SPF matched donations to a total of $5,000.
SPF is a public charity with 501(c)(3) tax exemption status; donations to SPF are tax-deductible.
